It is the lack of notification between people and state that has began to erode the basic natures of all of us. Todays world where a media, the established conduit of comprehension between men and man, has in recent times tended to lean in favor of those in control who dictate their livelihoods and this in turn, allows for their well being. It is little wonder that all of us here on earth are in some regard , stunned with the current status quo. We are in a sense, virtually helpless to combat this intrusion that has entered our lives through a somewhat customary, hesitant manner.
This new technological breed of man has gone beyond reasoning. A total dominance and control of all aspects of not only his life , but the lives of those who have been replaced by a 'entity' that doesn't ask questions , doesn't get sick , doesn't think on their own, doesn't act on their own , but more importantly , doesn't exist on its own. This has brought the human race from a species of creature whose curiosities and determinations conquered his fears for centuries, to a species of dependent children in the last few decades who are told what to do, and when , where , and how to do it. It is usually the fault of a few that make the majority of the many to suffer. Unfortunately, these few are unseen from sight but are well established in view. It is the extreme opposite of " knowing a face , but unable to place the name. "
In part , the reasons for the deterioration of society and man is due to the lack of compassion by some and the acceleration to dominate everything and everyone on this planet. With the obsession to control , comes the attitude to defeat when necessary. Not all of the forces of man and nature are of a combative form, but it seems that anything extraneous to the common belief is usually the focus of attention. Once this attention is held to be hazardous in the most negative way of reasoning, it becomes a threat to some rather then a possible attribute of growth for all.
THE UPCOMING MILLENNIUM
We live in uncertain times. Technology is spreading in a undisciplined pace. Ethnic, spiritual and family values have evolved from our traditional philosophies of understanding to sheer disarray. If ever we needed something or someone to help guide us into the new millennium , then it is now. Ethnic groups can find strength in their heritage, spiritual groups can find comfort in their gods and the family unit always have each other if the previous two have failed.
The Planet Earth is going through a transformation that had been predicted by grassroots organizations for decades now. Science had always dismissed their predictions as pure speculation while having no firm confirmation to aid in their assertions. Asking science for assistance was grim to say the least. Although much evidence was placed to the attention of science from grassroots organizations concerning our planets health , no collective research between both groups was ever deemed legitimate in the eyes of science. Science has been the forefathers to invention for centuries. It wasn't until recently that Inductive Fallacies, or mistakes in scientific reasoning began to over shadow the common law of Deductive Fallacies. There is , then , a widespread philosophical consensus on the methods that scientists should not use. Far less agreement exists concerning the details of positive prescriptions for science. To say , scientists can usually decide more easily which theories are false than which theories are true. This situation has become typical in many fields.
SCIENTIFIC UNDERSTANDING
Let us be very cautious here. Although many unusual happening have been occurring around the world in the past 20 years, it may shed some light into the consequences that we have reluctantly placed ourselves into. Such incidents as global warming and pollution may have placed our planet , and ourselves at an ultimate risk. Although president Bill Clinton and vice president Al Gore and even the media and the scientific community had recently set aside time to discuss global warming in a up front and honest effort to curb air and water pollution , this , like the Y2K bug is too little too late. With less than 16 months before the beginning of the new millennium , the Y2K bug will begin if it hadn't already begun to scramble data through out its systems in an grave attempt to calculate its daily chores that man had so blissfully and voraciously bestowed upon it. When the time comes where computers cannot execute its procedures due to data and commands not reasoning with one another, then will we witness and be affected by this in one form or another.
There are other forms of deductive reasoning that man has suffered through by Sciences way of reasoning that has left a large segment of the population at odds with itself and science and quite possibly with God himself. One of these is the theory of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) , or extra-terrestrial intelligence (ETs). This phenomena has become extremely obvious within the last 50 years. Reports of UFOs , alien abduction , and crop circles to name a few have been reported in excess for some time now. When we ask science to look into the possibility that these phenomena could exist, we run into a stonewall. There are a few in conventional sciences that look at the possibilities of this phenomena and come to a conclusion that this research does warrant further investigation. But still , the majority of scientists still decline to persue it. These scientist had probably relied on Deductive Fallacies to reach their conclusions on this topic. Scientists can usually decide more easily which theories are false than which theories are true. By simply rejecting the idea of UFOs and ETs without any collective research with grassroots investigators who have kept a constant observance on the subject, I can't see how the conventional sciences can make a decision not to research this phenomena if no serious research had been done in collaborations with grassroots organizations who have constantly kept a vigil on UFO sighting , alien abduction and crop circles. If the conventional sciences have used grassroots research as a basis to decide that the subject isn't worth following up , then they must be blind. The cases of UFO sightings, alien abduction and crop circles reports have never been at a all time high as they are today, and yet , the decision of the conventional sciences to place a priority on UFOlogy has gone unnoticed.
Another example of our conventional sciences reactions to evidence falls into the category of exploration of space. We as a species are reaching out in the universe to discover whether or not we are alone. The planet Mars has always been a place where we have believed that life had existed. This was a common belief among all of us only a short time ago.
The example of this is Percival Lowell , the American astronomer who became obsessed with Giovanni Schiaparelli's report (1887) of canali (or channels) on Mars. He founded the Lowell Observatory near Flagstaff, Arizona in 1894, especially for studying the Martian surface, and for more than a decade he charted the apparent 'canal' markings of Mars. Although other astronomers fiercely denied the existence of canals on Mars, Lowell maintained that not only did they exist, they had also been built by intelligent beings. So in the beginning of this century, most earthlings assumed that Mars was a planet teaming with life. Lowell had suggested that Mars was the home for a civilization of beings who covered their planet with canals, carrying water to other parts of their planet. Percival Lowell had made the study of Mars his lives work. His theories of Mars became so influential , that it became the view most commonly held by the public.
As in our times , where even as conventional science continually denies the existence of extraterrestrial life here or abroad, the public opinion polls still show that over 50% of adult Americans think UFOs are real, over 70% think the government is hiding information about UFOs, and 40 % think that the government is concealing information proving the existence of UFOs.
Some answers to the publics view point of life on Mars would have rested with NASAs Viking space project in the summer of 1976. The project consisted of sending 2 spacecraft to Mars, each one comprising of a separate orbiter and lander. However , with the possible ending of one controversy about life on Mars , so did others emerge from it.
Viking I , launched on August 20, 1975 and arriving in orbit on June 19, 1976, landed on the slope of a dry basin in a region known as Chryse Plaitia on July 20, 1976.
Viking II , launched on September 9, 1975 and arriving in orbit on August 7, 1976, landed in a rock-strewn plain in a more northerly site called Utopia Planitia on September 3, 1976.
A major portion of the Viking effort was directed at searching for life processes based on a carbon biochemistry. Although the soil chemistry of Mars was found to be unusual and highly active, no conclusive evidence of biological activity has been found. The initial results of an experiment based on photosynthesis indicated that the Martian soil is capable of breaking down carbon dioxide and making carbon compounds, as do green plants on Earth. A control sample, sterilized at high temperatures, showed no meaningful response. When the original experiment was repeated in the presents of water, which should have enhanced a biological response on a dry planet, the response again went to zero. Other experiments showed strong chemical reactions to nutrients used, and a test for organic compounds in the soil proved negative.
The official report to the public was that despite the soil test results , Mars remains the best candidate for Earth-like life in the solar system outside of the Earth itself. The question of life there remains open, the inability's of the Vikings to detect life may simply mean that the experiments were designed incorrectly. Further studies of the Martian surface are required ?
Millions of dollars and years in the developing of the Viking missions yields an answer of 'detecting life on Mars may simply mean that the experiments of Viking were designed incorrectly ?'
Despite the consensus of the scientific community , the inventor of one Viking life detection tests disagrees. Dr. Gilbert Levin , president of Biospherics Inc., stated " We ran nine experiments at the two lander sites. All nine were consistent for the presence of life on Mars." Dr. Levin claimed that his labeled release experiment on Viking DID find life on Mars. But in the eyes of our conventional scientific community , the verdict on life is not yet in? They state that the outcome will be determined by scientific breakthroughs that are coming over the horizon?
While both Viking landers were on the Martian surface analyzing the Martian soil and atmospheric conditions , NASA still had two orbitals circling the planet. The Viking orbitals were equipped to photograph ( in color, stereo and through filters) , atmospheric water-vapor detection, and surface-temperature measurements. Each orbital carried two slow-scan cameras. After each perspective orbital aided in the selection of landing sites for their landers, the cameras then moved on to the tasks of mapping the rest of the planets surface, sometimes from altitudes as low as 298km(185 mi). The advantages of sending along a orbital was not only the ability to map nearly all of the planets surface, but to be able to do so repeatedly in order to look for seasonal and long term changes in surface features. Unknowing to NASA , when these two orbitals, while mapping the surface of Mars, would snap images in a location at 41� north latitude, 10� west longitude that would create a controversy that NASA would be scrutinized for to this very day.
Several years after the success of the Viking Mars missions , Vincent DiPietro and Gregory Molenaar , while reviewing images taken from the Viking orbitals years before, discovered a unusual image taken from the Viking Mars Orbitals. The image clearly showed an abnormal surface feature that when examined closely, resembled a ' face on Mars.' The photo taken from one of the Viking Orbitals years earlier, even with the dubious tag 'head' given to the image, was somehow 'missed' by researchers. The image of the face on Mars was also accompanied by several unusual surface feature in the general area of the face. This area on Mars had come to be known as Cydonia. Speculation began by both researchers and skeptics on whether the bizarre features of the Face and the surrounding region of Cydonia were either natural or possibly manmade, or as NASA labeled it , artificial. While scientists cautiously re-examined the Cydonia images, NASAs critics had already concluded that Cydonia was the proverbial 'missing link' to their questions on whether Mars had once been inhabited by a intelligent race of beings. While NASA researchers reviewed the Face, other evidences of the Cydonia region were arising. Four or possibly five sided pyramids had been detected , as well as what was described as a 'city' and a accompanied 'fortress'. NASAs denied to confirm these other findings while their skeptics claimed that NASA was concealing the truth of their arguments that the Face on Mars and Cydonia were manmade. NASA , pressured by both their critics and the public decided to explore the Cydonia region more closely in future missions.
A $1 billion dollar Mars Orbital spacecraft launched in 1995 was to remap 90% of the surface of Mars and hopefully at the same time answer some of their questions as well as their critics on the Cydonia region. But just 2 days before the spacecraft was to enter Martian orbit , all contact with the spacecraft was lost? After weeks of attempting to re-establish contact with the spacecraft , NASA had declared the spacecraft lost and the mission a complete failure.
The Mars Global Surveyor, launched in 1996 was to begin (attempt) mapping the surface of Mars in the summer of 1997. But due to equipment failure(?), the MGS would be a year late in performing its task. In Fall of 1997, independent Cydonia researchers Professor Stanley McDaniel, Dr. Mark Carlotto, Richard Hoagland, Vincent DiPietro and other colleagues met with NASA officials in Washington, D.C. and received, for the first time, unequivocal assurances that NASA would attempt to reimage the controversial Cydonia landforms "at every opportunity." It now appears that NASA will try to make good on that promise soon.
NASA stated that images would be taken of the Cydonia region in spring of 1998 while the MGS was still establishing a orbit around Mars. Due to its equipment failure , the MGS would be and has been performing maneuvers in which the spacecraft has been 'dipping' in and out of the Martian atmosphere in an attempt to slow the spacecraft. This term of dipping in and out of the Martian atmosphere is better known as airbreaking. NASA stated that photographs taken of the region would have a 30-50% chance of capturing an image of the face on Mars until such a time that MGS could establish a more stable orbit from its present elliptical orbit. Three images were caught on the MGS cameras in the spring of 1998 and sent back to earth. The quality of the images were so bad that critics again denounced NASAs for not being totally dedicated to resolving the Cydonia theory. But NASA, at that time was satisfied with the images taken at Cydonia and stated that the face on Mars is the result of a natural rock or ridge formation. The skeptics still disagreed and are pushing for more images of the area by MGS in the future. This delay is due in part to the shut-down of the MGS imaging systems while the spacecraft continues its airbreaking maneuvers from September 1998 to March 1999 where its permanent orbit should be established.
There is one interesting aspect to the MGS mission. Shortly before the MGS was to re-photograph the Cydonia region , a news release had stated that another unusual anomaly was found on Mars. Nasa images discovered another region on Mars that more closely in their eyes , resembles a city. The region named NOD, estimated to be at 83� south latitude 43� west longitude , has structures that are immense in size , a wall seen to the north is also estimated to be 45 miles long. And just to the north of it , lies another area where NASA had labeled , the 'Inca City'. This area has many contiguous rectangular walled areas, each estimated to be 4-5 km in length. The 'city' is located at 81.8 south latitude 59.1 west longitude.
NASAs continuous stalling on the re-imaging of the Cydonia area has been noted in everything from bad imaging , crippled and failed orbitals, and maybe now even a diversion from the Cydonia region to their NOD region. How many more months or years will Cydonia be ignored. Or better yet , how many more months or years will the majorities interests on this planet be ignored. If stalling is what NASA is doing, then it would have to end sooner or later. Unless NASA knows, like many more might possibly know that 'later' will never come.
THE SUN
Greenhouse gases and air pollution have been plaguing our planet in recent decades. Mans continuous industrial growth that has brought this world out of its dark ages (again) and has transformed it into one of the more greater and powerful flourishing terrestrial civilizations ever may have done so with a price. But again , that statement is not necessarily accurate.
While exhaust emissions from the combustible engine and todays production technology of petroleum refineries, that are just two on a list of major contributors to air pollution, have been the primary reasons for the 'haze' that we all have witnessed above and around heavily populated areas, this could be misleading. Recent refinery technology has only taken the haze out of the word, pollution. Recent volcanic eruptions through-out the world aids in the theory of a greenhouse effect. It is widely known that violent volcanic eruptions have actually dropped the temperature of the earth by a few degrees. The ash spewed out of volcanic eruptions can stay in the atmosphere for literally years. This could aid in the greenhouse effect, but chances are not many people would grasp this idea.
There is much we can do to regulate our industrial processes, thus reducing the amount of 'junk' we place into our atmosphere , but even that will not desist another main factor in global warming.
It has been theorized in recent times that the changes in the sun is one of the principal causes of the change of temperature of the Earth in recent decades. Physicists are predicting that Sun storms are on the increase. Solar activities do affect our planet in a way that is both harmful and unavoiding. The increase in sun storms thus increases solar activity.
To put in layman's terms, sun storms are caused by the irregular rotation of the sun. This causes a agitation on the suns surface. This agitation, or 'splashing', is more relevant on the equatorial regions of the sun than it is at the suns top and bottom - or its north and south - magnetic poles. The increased unevenness of the suns surface, rotation and speed causes the suns magnetic fields to tighten up, and at such times it 'snaps!'. If anyone has even seen video of the suns corona, than the 'looping', flame-like trails that break apart on the suns surface may be the 'snapping' of it magnetic poles. This is somewhat similar to raising your electric mixer above the mixing bowl for a split second. This event hurls huge amounts of matter into space.
The SOHO spacecraft , or the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory was launched into outer space back in December of 1995. SOHO, once parked at about 1 million miles away from the earth, in a conjunction exactly between the Earth and the sun at the edges of both the suns and the earth's gravitational poles. It was to monitor the suns activities 24 hours a day. When these huge amounts of matter discharged into space by the sun come near SOHO, than it is hoped that scientists back on earth can forecast the speed, volume and direction of it.
This information is valuable to scientists because it is believed that these 'plasma' waves that are directed toward the Earth do come in contact with the earth's magnetic fields, causing the earth's magnetic poles , when the situation is right, to electrically charge up. This is evident in the increased magnetic thunderstorms in the world. It is also believed that power disruptions on our planets surface are a direct explanation of solar storms, such as the great power disruptions in Quebec, Canada in 1995 that took weeks to repair. The world had also experienced other sudden, mysterious power outages within the last few years when the sun is at an active time of sun storms such as the disruptions of electrical power in Auckland, Australia on February 23, 1998. The power was expected to be restored in about 4-5 weeks. The outage in the western part of United States in the summer of 1997 that lasted just a few hours in most of the 6 state areas affected. Failures in simply electrical relay stations in both occurrences were said to be the cause. But what occurrence caused them to fail?
The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) was a success in sending back data to Earth . There were a few instances where scientists believed that these plasma clouds blasts were heading directly toward earth. One such event took place in the spring of 1997. The News medias around the world warned that minor power and communications services may be temporarily affected. However , the military was far more concerned with the upcoming event. Warnings were sent out informing all ground base electrical utilities and ground based communication and satellite operators that their services may be disrupted.
The military warned in its ranks of disruptions in radio communications, satellites operations, air navigation's and monitoring of both surface vessels and submarines that were currently deployed. But after a few days nothing occurred. SOHOs data was neither correct or incorrect. Not knowing the magnetic polarity of the plasma clouds may be a result in why the Earth wasn't seemingly affected. Like before, the situation wasn't right for a serious event.
NASA lost all communications with SOHO on June 25, 1998. Whether solar storms , or sunspots as they are commonly called , caused SOHO to freak is one answer. When SOHO lost contact with Earth , rumors started to spread on two comets that were seen by SOHO to be smashing into the sun. Other rumors such as an ' object?' that was also witnessed by SOHO to be moving in and out of its range of view further igniting speculation of SOHOs demise. The comets were not rumor but were in fact shown to the public. The mysterious object that was also seen has been said to have been shown also. Sometimes the obvious is often not seen.
Then, on July 23, 1998, an echo was picked up from NASA's Deep Space Network 70-meter antenna located in Goldstone, California. Engineers believe they have found SOHO. It's believed that SOHO is still in the general area where it was last reported to have been. But SOHO was rotating at one revolution per minute. This indicates that the spacecraft must have sustained some sort of structural damage. The origin of the damage is , of course , not known. The rotation of the spacecraft is thought to have drained its power cells. If this is the case , then SOHO may also be a total loss. NASA and the European Space Agency both believe that 'miscommands' by ground controllers are to blame for the loss of the spacecraft, but an investigation into the matter in ongoing leaving the lasting impression that that was the cause in the minds of the general public.
